This tour of the City of Rostock and the Hanseatic history will depart straight from your port with a scenic 20 minute ride to Rostock. Upon arrival in the center you will immediately see the historical brick gables reaching into the sky. For ages, and even today, they are the symbols for trade wherein Rostock kept its meaningful, position as the center of the trading in the Hanseatic League. Furthermore higher education was founded in the region with the establishing of the University of Rostock in 1419, much, much before even Columbus was born. The Rostock University is the oldest university in Northern Europe.

Your tour will continue with a visit to the tower of St. Peter’s Church. Now you’ll have the choice, either by lift, or on foot, to climb the steps to the 117 meter high tower, which spreads a wonderful view over Rostock city and its surroundings. After your return back to the ground, our tour shall continue with a short transfer to the sailing harbor, where we’ll board a boat for a cruise along The River Warnow. We shall view from the water the newly built inner harbor, the shipyard, and the green zones of the Rostock area. During the boat ride cookies, tea and coffee will be served before we’ll dock at the “Neuer Strom” in Warnemunde, and after that you may either return to the ship or enjoy this lovely and picturesque German fishing village. Our guide shall explain where your ship is staying, just a stone’s throw away. If you prefer, our guide shall also deliver you directly back to your pier and to your ship. – End of the tour.
