Activity level: Active walking required. This is an active but enjoyable tour, since being your private tour, you may control the speed and the progress. Walking is required, and especially uphill and downhill, as well as on uneven surfaces. There will be many places for resting and sitting on the way.
Major sites and inside admissions included: Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, St. Mary’s Cathedral, one coffee break, Toompea Castle, Kadriorg Park, Viimsi Seaside Residential area. (Note: St. Mary’s Cathedral informs that interior visits are not possible during services on Sundays and Mondays
ITINERARY:
Start your tour of romantically beautiful places by heading first to the oldest part of Tallinn – Toompea. View the baroque Toompea Castle, now the residence of the Estonian Parliament ,and visit the lovely Russian Orthodox Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, a dominating feature of Upper Town's city skyline, and home to numerous golden icons and mosaics. Continuing along Tallinn's medieval cobbled streets your guide will then take you for a visit to the gothic Dome Church, also known as St Mary's Cathedral. You will then have a chance to take photographs from one of the best viewpoints of Tallinn and briefly browse a souvenir shop on the way back to the coach.
Continue your tour by taking a drive to the beautiful Kadriorg Park („Catherine’s Valley“), founded by Peter the Great in honor of his empress wife Catherine to show his love and devotedness. Enjoy the tiered gardens, romantic Swan Pond with its picturesque island and the grottoes in the upper garden.
After the walk in the park rejoin the coach for a scenic drive to the seaside residential area of Viimsi. This green area, located on the peninsula, is a relaxing and peaceful place where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea before taking the drive back to the port.
